Self-Care for the Holidays

The holidays can be a stressful time for everyone. There are decorations to put up, parties to attend, gifts to buy, and long work hours. So, it’s very important to carve out some “me time” or self-care. Here are 4 things I enjoy to destress and decompress:

  1. Take a hot yoga or exercise class. Exercise releases those feel-good endorphins and is a great stress reliever. Whenever I am feeling overwhelmed, my go to is hot yoga. It’s relaxing and gives me a chance to meditate/pray without distractions. I often walk the gardens near my job, even in the winter if it’s a nice day. Fresh air is always nice! Be sure to check out all the options in your area. Even the big gyms generally have all types of classes from yoga to Zumba.
  2. Use a sheet mask. These are awesome during the colder months! I’ve used them to relieve dry, chapped skin and always have them on hand. Great to stick in the fridge during the summer months too! Pacifica or Yes!To are two cruelty-free brands to try.
  3. Try something new. Take that wine/design class or bake that recipe from Pinterest that you have been wanting try. I recently made gingerbread cookies (which I have never made, but always wanted to) and they were delicious. This recipe came from Gimme Some Oven.
  4. Do something you enjoy. The holidays put much of the focus on helping others or finding ways to show loved ones your appreciation. Sometimes, we can forget to take the time to do what we enjoy too. Watch that favorite Netflix show, read a book, binge watch Christmas movies! ğŸŽ¥

I hope you found some of these ideas helpful and that your holidays are merry! ğŸŽ„â„ï¸ğŸ¥³
